Watercolor Emico: Ergo Blue by Jamush Watercolor Emico: Ergo Blue by Jamush
Watercolor Emico: Ergonomic Blue

So.. almost a year after I've started working on this skin the 1st style is finally done. This version contains the Blue substyles with a "Modern" and a "Classic" taskbar.
This skin is based on the skin called "Watercolor". It's a skin that was being used in the beta's of XP.

I wanted to make my own skin so tornado5 aka em3 told me that I should try and make a new version of Watercolor.
This is the outcome.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

How to install:

Extract the folder called "WE Ergo" to "C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes".
Right click the desktop > properties > appearance > then from the first drop select "Watercolor Emico: Ergonomic Blue"
From the 2nd drop downlist you can make a choice between the "Modern" and the "Classic" taskbar.
In the 3rd drop downlist you can make a choice between a "Normal" or a "Compact" start panel.

To use this theme you need to patch the Windows system file uxtheme.dll. You can read about how to do that here: [link]

"bugs" I know of:
* Some palet frames arent drawn the correct way. (Now idea how to fix this yet)
* In some webbrowsers the buttons might be resized the wrong way. (Browser bug)
* Multi row taskbar does not look good in the Modern substyle. (Theme)

Modification:
For personal use only.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bug fixes and updates:

14-06-08:
- Changed the orange on the buttons
- Changed the orange on the tabs
- Changed the orange on the checkboxes
- Changed the orange on the radiobuttons
- Removed some gloss in the flash button. There was a bit to much gloss in that button compared to the others.

16-04-09:
- Added the shellstyle

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wallpaper used in the preview is Vplants X3 029 by DJMattRicks

Credits:

Credits go out to all the beta testers.
Credits also go out to tornado5 aka em3.
Thanks to Des and Scirwode for helping me out with the shellstyles.
Thanks to euphoricallydead for notifying me about some bugs after the first release.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please give me some feedback about the skin.

For me Windows 7 is out of support because I'm using Windows 8.1. The theme was made only for XP though :)

Yes, it seems to be like that. There is few more themes in the setup, and they're probably all altered slightly to work correctly since its not interpreting things 1:1 to XP.

I am very thankful that you gave permission to be in there, it is one of the best themes in the pack (which is why I have been using it haha).

Haha, I wouldn't be an ass about it since it's been released several years ago. It would have been a different story if it was a new theme :P And np! :)

yeps.. with the orange border when you hover them :)

the only thing I would love to change ( but I don't think I can )

is the orange of the active window in the taskbar.
It's a bit too brown.. I would love it to be the same colour as the hovered buttons :)

Man, you did a really great job!
I've used original old Watercolor style for a couple of years. A few months ago I had some problems with my OS and I was forced to switch to Royale style temporarily but I missed good old Watercolor. Now I reinstalled my XP and googled for 'watercolor ergonomic' hoping maybe there's some updated version of this style. Then I saw your Watercolor Emico series. That was something what I was looking for! Simplicity, comfort, clearness, mathematic-like precision (those squared-off window corners ), which I loved in old Watercolor and here also stylish condensed Start button and a glossy look! Wow!

However, I'm a perfectionist so I needed to touch up the taskbar and Start button bitmaps to match it to my 2-row taskbar. I did it superficially but I'm happy with the results. If you want to see the effect just PM me. :)

Generally, Ergonomic and Black are the best versions, so I +fav both of them but I think I'll stay with Ergonomic because icons in tray are more visible and progress bars are green =D

Thank you very much and keep up with so outstanding work! Peace!

Thanks a lot! You're free to show me the 2 row taskbar.

My classic substyle kinda looks alright with a 2 row setup. Though the tray arrow looks weird because I used a bitmap for it.

There are more people that want to have a Vista version. All you have to do is find someone that could make a perfect port and let them contact me about it.

nice colouring but I can't live with those squared-off window corners, they are from a time when Windows was ugly as in Windows 95/98. Retro may be to some tastes, but not mine.

The original Watercolor theme had squared-off window corners. That's the reason why this theme also has them squared of. They're also squared-off because I like it that way :)

any chance you'll be making a version of this cool visual style that shows the userpic at the start menu?

I wanted to keep the start panel as compact as possible. Adding a userpicture also makes the userpanel bigger which didn't look nice at all. So don't be expecting a version with a userpicture.

This is a great style. Very clean looking and perfect silver and blue combination. This is hands down my favorite of the 3 released so far but I can't wait to see how the silver/grey one looks.

Yes its the same thing in explorer, I didnt notice it because I dont use explorer often.

The result is particularly weird in Firefox, specially in the sidebar part, because main and menu toolbars have borders while the bottom one doesnt, making it like the sidebar its part of the toolbar. When you open the tree bar in explorer the result its the same.

The toolbar is made that way on purpose. I'm going to update the toolbars on all the styles once I rellease my shellstyles.

It's weird though, I'm using All-In-One-Sidebar and I see a line between the toolbar and the sidebar. I actually think that it looks good in Explorer though. But in your Firefox it doesn't look as good.

At the moment you'll have to live with these toolbar images untill I'm updating them in all the styles :)

Very nice update of Watercolor :)

There seems to be a small bug with the toolbars in Firefox 3: the bottom of the personal bookmarks toolbar is missing a pixel border. Its not very noticeable against the tab bar but when you open the sidebar you will notice it clearly, there is no separation between the sidebar and the toolbar.

You mean the same thing as what you can see in explorer? Could you maybe give me a screenshot?

It's not a bug, I didn't add a gray line in the toolbar image on purpose. I might add it back for all the styles when I've made the shellstyles.
